DECATUR, MICHIGAN – – – – The Board, Administration and Staff of Van Buren District Library, extend a heartfelt thank you to its patrons for their patience, understanding and cooperation while the library is closed. In keeping with Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order issued Thursday, April 30, all seven VBDL locations will remain closed through May 28.

DECATUR, MICHIGAN – – – – The list grows longer every day. From the Sno-Isle Libraries in Washington’s Snohomish and Island counties to Queen Anne’s County Library in Maryland, the number of libraries eliminating overdue fines continues to increase. Since November 1, Van Buren District Library (VBDL), which serves approximately 45,000 people in Van Buren County, has joined the ranks of the fine-free.
2 JULY 2019: VBDL SCHEDULES CATALOG UPGRADE
Software updates are a fact of life. While sometimes annoying and a bit disruptive, they are a necessary task in order to add new features, fix problems or remove outdated features. Van Buren District Library is scheduled to undergo an unavoidable software update beginning Friday, July 12, 5:00pm, through Monday, July 15, 9:00am.

Van Buren District Library promises a cosmic collection of events and activities during its annual summer reading program, May 28 through August 17.This year’s theme, “A Universe of Stories,” explores out of this world subjects such as the solar system, astronauts, rockets, aliens and more.
